The UK Government announced in July various changes to visa application fees which are now due to take effect from 4 October 2023. This includes increases to work and visitor visas, student visas, and settlement and citizenship applications.
The Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) will also see an increase by 66%. Currently, the normal rate, which is applicable to most applicants, is £624 per year. This will be increased to £1,035. The reduced rate applicable to students and applicants under-18 will change from £470 to £776 per year.
There has not been an announcement for when the IHS changes will be implemented. However, it is likely to be some time between late 2023 and early 2024.
